Job Description: Head Chef Location: Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, United Kingdom Job Responsibilities: Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation. Design and implement innovative menu offerings, considering seasonal ingredients and local produce. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as food hygiene standards. Monitor food inventory and oversee the ordering of supplies and ingredients. Engage with customers to receive feedback and improve the dining experience. Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge. Manage kitchen budgets and control costs effectively without compromising quality. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations during service. Essential Qualifications: Formal culinary education from a recognized institution. Valid food safety certification and knowledge of health and safety regulations. Desired Experience: Proven experience in a similar head chef or senior role within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team. Experience in menu creation and cost control.
