Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Business Officer to provide essential senior administrative support to the Group Executive and their direct reports across the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospital Group.
This is a varied and influential role at the heart of the organisation, supporting the smooth running of executive offices and governance processes. You will manage complex diaries, coordinate high level meetings, support recruitment and reporting activity, and handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Working closely with the Business Manager and wider Group administrative team, you will help ensure key deadlines are met and that senior leaders are well supported to deliver across their portfolios. You will also contribute to service improvement, policy development and effective communication with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

The Business Officer will provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to the Group Executive and their team's, ensuring work is prioritised effectively and deadlines are met.
The role requires a dynamic and highly organised individual who can manage complex and confidential information, support governance processes, and foster effective communication between senior leaders, internal, and external stakeholders. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation of the office, meeting key deadlines, and ensuring the Group Executive are able to deliver across their portfolios.
They will provide direct support and be a core member of the administrative support team for the Group Executive. This will include complex diary management, administrating meetings, basic report writing and recruitment for relevant Group Executives and their direct reports. The post holder will also play a vital role in the development and implementation of policies, handling staffing issues, and supporting various projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Manage complex diaries, coordinate internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, take accurate minutes, and track actions using digital tools.
* Support preparation for key executive and governance meetings, assist with basic report writing, and provide administrative support to recruitment and ESR processes.
* Act as a key point of contact for administrative matters, communicating confidently with senior leaders, clinicians, partners and external stakeholders.
* Support service development and quality improvement initiatives, help implement new administrative procedures and improve ways of working.
* Assist with monitoring non‑pay budgets, tracking expenditure, and ensuring resources are used efficiently.
* Ensure all activity complies with governance, data protection, confidentiality, health and safety and equality requirements.
* Support the Business Manager with complaints, incidents and risk management where required.
