It creates a mosaic of habitats including coastal, woodlands, moorland and grasslands. These properties are connected through a number of National Trails which include the King Charles the third path, Cleveland Way and the Coast to Coast path. The portfolio also contains 8 farms, along with many more tenants involved in managing the portfolio. Sitting in the North York Moors National Park, some of the properties have upwards of 250,000 visitors per year.Projects include the introduction of ponds and wetland areas along the coast, tree planting and hedgerow introduction at a number of sites, Water improvement works along our streams and becks and working with our tenants to create hay meadows and a more diverse richness of species in our grasslands, both on the moors and on the coast. Bottom House Farm has been taken back in hand with a vision to change farming practices and allow natural processes and climate change to help dictate some of the habitat. Ormesby Hall sits in the urban greenery of Middlesbough. As a gateway to the Moors, the property offers huge opportunities in habitat creation including woodland planting, wetland creation and hay meadow management as well as being the focus on our strategic goal of ending unequal access.Your role will support the Lead Ranger in the delivery of the National Trust strategy. The role changes with the seasons providing varied challenges and priorities throughout the year. As part of the Ranger team, you'll work on practical conservation projects and activities, from hay meadow cuts and tree planting to nature regeneration and site restoration initiatives. You'll manage and maintain access to footpaths and bridleways as well as the delivery of engagement opportunities on sites across the whole of the portfolio.You will engage and lead an enthusiastic and passionate group of volunteers, tackling a variety of projects.
