Job Description
Working as part of a dedicated team, the CAD Technician will contribute to the management, accuracy and development of architectural, space and building data.
The role supports the transition to structured BIM and digital records, ensuring that building information is reliable, secure and aligned with operational and strategic estate needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain and update the Bank’s architectural archive, including digital drawings, BIM models and hard copy records, ensuring robust access control and governance processes.
2. Produce, revise and maintain accurate 2D CAD drawings and Revit BIM models for BAU and project activity.
3. Support the BIM transition by developing model content, applying structure and classification, and maintaining model consistency and data integrity.
4. Ensure alignment between CAD/BIM outputs and systems such as Planon and Meridian.
5. Maintain accurate geometry, room data, departmental layouts, zoning and spatial definitions across CAD, Revit and IWMS systems.
6. Prepare and update space plans, seating layouts, occupancy models and scenario options to support workplace and operational change.
7. Provide building intelligence, area data and model extracts to support strategic planning, feasibility studies and reporting.
8. Apply strict information governance, security and confidentiality standards when handling sensitive architectural and estate data.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
9. HNC/HND or equivalent in CAD, Architectural Technology, Building Studies or a related discipline.
10. Experience producing technical drawings and maintaining sustainable, well-structured BIM models.
11. Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with Revit skills essential to support BIM transformation.
12. Experience managing historical architectural archives, including preservation and digitisation activities.
13. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in both geometric and dataset-level information.
14. Solid understanding of space planning, building layouts, technical documentation and estates operations.
15. An organised, proactive self-starter with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
