NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking a dedicated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our Emergency Department team. About The Role This is a vital role supporting patients during urgent and often critical moments. You’ll work closely with registered nurses and clinicians to provide hands-on care and ensure a safe, compassionate environment for patients and their families. Key Responsibilities Carry out clinical tasks such as ECGs, venepuncture, catheter care, and patient observations Assist with personal care and mobility needs Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team Support the smooth running of the department during busy periods What We’re Looking For Experience in a healthcare setting, ideally within acute or emergency care SVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rota Why Join NHS Dumfries and Galloway?
