Education/Qualifications


Essential criteria

* Registered Professional on NMC/HCPC Register
* First Degree or equivalent in healthcare related
* Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Qualification
* Master's degree or equivalent experience and/or working towards a master's qualification.
* Leadership and management qualification /training


Desirable criteria

* PSIRF Training
* Best Interests Assessor
* Recognised teaching qualification /experience in delivering safeguarding training programmes
* Safeguarding supervision qualification


Experience


Essential criteria

* Experience working in community healthcare in clinical leadership clinical management position
* Experience of working with diverse communities
* Experience of working in a statutory safeguarding role
* Experience of working with complex adult/child safeguarding cases
* Evidence of staff and resource management experience
* Experience of change management within healthcare settings
* Experience in undertaking and presenting audits
* Experience of supporting root cause analysis investigations
* Experience of developing resources and delivering safeguarding training to Level 3 /4 • Experiencing in acting autonomously as an expert in safeguarding • Substantial experience in the development and implementation of discrete areas of practice or safeguarding policies and service development


Desirable criteria

* Exerience and knowledge of working within learning disabilities or mental health


Skills and Knowledge


Essential criteria

* Advise and influence through provision of expert advice
* Knowledge, expertise, and experience in safeguarding, including national legislative frameworks and regulations
* Knowledge of the national and local NHS agenda
* Knowledge and understanding of roles of partner agencies working within the safeguarding arena
* Knowledge of statutory reviews for children and adults
* Demonstrate management of safeguarding risk and escalation processes.
* Excellent report writing skills and to present information coherently and to a high standard
* Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies, commissioners, regulators, and designated professionals
* Ability to advise and influence through the provision of expert advice
* Ability to network and build relationships at all levels, including interpersonal skills, liaison and negotiating skills
* Ability to recognise and manage challenging situations.
* Ability to prioritise work and adapt to changing deadlines
* Ability to develop, lead and implement policy, guidelines, and projects
* Ability to represent the Trust at multiagency working groups, strategic meetings, and safeguarding boards
* Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation which comply with professional, organisational, and legal requirements
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Advise and influence through provision of expert advice
* IT skills

* Experience of contributing to statutory reviews
