Job Title: Director Department: PR+I, Development Consultancy Location: Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham The role The Development Consultancy team at LSH provides a diverse range of development consultancy to our loyal client base. We provide advice to clients on large-scale regeneration project as well as smaller infill developments. We have a motivated and agile team, and we’re looking to grow, so need a further two Associate Directors in the team. Both need to have development consultancy experience; one should have a background that includes land agency and the other should have a background that includes valuation and appraisal work. The Development Consultancy team undertakes work including development consultancy, estate rationalisation, regeneration advice, financial viability, development valuations, scheme optimisation, and development land agency. The role will require business generation, leadership, management of junior team members, project delivery experience, and a demonstrable track record of fee generation. Both Associate roles will report directly into the Head of Development Consultancy, and have fantastic career progression prospects; we are looking for individuals who can excel and become Directors within the team. Knowledge and experience required
1. A track record within the Manchester and North West residential/ mixed-use development consultancy market;
2. A broad cross-section of clients, with exposure to the Public Sector and/or quasi public sector bodies such as the GLA, Homes England etc;
3. Competent use of Argus appraisal software and knowledge of the input variables usually used to determine residual land value;
4. Ability to provide a reasoned justification for a preferred property transaction structure that can securely bring forward development and maximise value to the land owner;
5. A general overview and understanding of the separate disciplines that integrate to deliver development: viability, planning, RIBA stages, funding, construction costs, procurement and delivery;
6. A good understanding of affordable housing tenures, affordable housing valuations, and some experience in dealing with Registered Providers.
7. Some knowledge of public sector procurement processes (OJEU/ FTS) used for the selection of development partners would be advantageous but not a requirement;
8. Excellent presentation and verbal/ written communication skills, a confident demeanour, and persuasive negotiation skills;
9. A good market profile, with an ability to maintain a network of senior contacts, and with experience of generating new business.
