We are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established Nursery School set in a beautiful rural location, welcoming children aged 3 months to 5 years. From September 2025, the nursery will expand to include six indoor classes housed in converted farm buildings and a cosy cabin, complemented by six state-of-the-art outdoor play areas including a garden, playground, and woodland trail. The nursery prides itself on blending creative and physical play with early learning to prepare children for school in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
As part of their upcoming expansion, the nursery is seeking a dedicated and experienced Baby Room Leader to join their growing team.
About the Role: Baby Room Leader
The Baby Room Leader will be responsible for leading and managing the baby room (ages 3 months to 2 years), creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing space that promotes early development. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate childcare professional to take on a key leadership role within a progressive and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and Managing the Room:

Oversee the daily operations of the baby room, ensuring high standards of care and education.

Maintain appropriate staffing levels and resources to meet the needs of the children.
Curriculum Planning & Implementation:
*
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
*
Adapt activities to meet individual developmental needs and interests.
Creating a Positive Learning Environment:
*
Ensure the room is well-organised, clean, and equipped to support safe exploration and play.
*
Promote a warm, welcoming atmosphere for both children and their families.
Monitoring and Assessing Child Development:
*
Observe and record children’s progress and contribute to developmental assessments.
*
Share insights with parents and the wider nursery team to support each child’s growth.
Child Well-being and Safety:
*
Ensure all children are cared for in a safe, hygienic, and nurturing environment.
*
Promote physical, emotional, and social well-being throughout the daily routine.
Fostering Relationships:

Build trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
*
Encourage strong partnerships with families to support children’s development at home and nursery.
Staff Leadership and Development:

Provide support, guidance, and training to junior staff and apprentices in the room.
*
Foster a collaborative and positive team culture.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
*
Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Childcare or equivalent.
*
Proven experience in a nursery setting, ideally in a room leader or senior practitioner role.
*
Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
*
A warm, caring, and reflective practitioner with a genuine passion for working with babies.
*
Paediatric first aid training (desirable; training can be provided).
