The Legal Solutions Centre (LSC) part of is an essential part of our business made up of over 100 paralegals, project managers, technologists, data analysts and lawyers. Whether delivering one-off requirements or on-going services, WBD Advance streamlines legal work and tackles complex business issues by delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions. The team handles everything from large volume projects and services, automation and process design, project and risk management, to knowledge and data management.
This growing team are now seeking to expand their Real Estate sub-team in both our Plymouth and Bristol offices
What will you be doing?
Our Real Estate sub-team act on behalf of investment funds, developers, public sector bodies, retail clients and landowners providing both discreet and end-to-end real estate transaction services. Your role will see you supporting real estate transactions; taking responsibility for searches, Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations, post completion activities and managing the documentation associated with various property transactions.
There will also be opportunities for you to get involved with the wider projects within WBD Advance.
So what are we looking for?
You may have just completed your legal studies, or already be working as a Paralegal, or in a non-legal role with relevant experience. What's really important to us is the great skills you're going to be able to bring with you. Once you have completed your initial training to undertake relevant tasks supported by one of the 5 lawyers embedded within the sub-team, this is a role that an ability to take responsibility for performing the tasks set, so you'll need to be proactive, motivated and able to manage your workload effectively. You'll also be highly organised, efficient and able to prioritise effectively as we often work to tight and urgent deadlines. As this is a client facing role, you'll be expected to build and maintain strong relationships, recognising what matters most to our clients and offering them practical, commercial solutions. Whether you've built these skills in legal or non-legal roles in a completely different sector, we'd love to hear from you. Applications to work part time will also be considered.
To be successful in this role you'll need as a minimum:
1. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
2. Excellent written skills
3. Experience of communicating over the telephone in a work environment
4. Experience of working to deadlines
5. Experience managing/prioritising your own work
6. Collaboration skills
7. Customer service skills
8. A pass in English and Maths GSCE or equivalent, and three passes at A level or equivalent.
Desirable criteria:
9. Prior experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or similar role in a regulated environment.
10. Experience using case/client management system
11. Prior dealing with Land Registry systems
