Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Job overview

This key role supports Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust in its ePMA journey. The Lead Pharmacist will provide clinical and technical support, configuration and testing expertise, and super‑user status for the electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration System(s) utilised at WHT.


Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Principal Pharmacist – ePMA and Digital Medicines Management in implementing ePMA, work trope with IT to ensure the ePMA system supports medicines optimisation, help develop reports and dashboards, and provide training to all staff groups across the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

* Support the implementation, maintenance and future development of the ePMA system, working closely with the Pharmacy ePMA team.
* Act as a super‑user, maintaining routine housekeeping for optimal performance and contributing to robust governance arrangements for workflows and drug file templates.
* Ensure clear and transparent processes and measurable timeframes for changes and developments to the ePMA system.
* Develop governance arrangements for workflows and drug file templates, ensuring implementation and adherence.
* Coordinate with the ePMA supplier for maintenance, development and complex function upgrades.
* Prioritise, log, resolve and/or escalated ePMA‑related incidents to the Trust IT team and the Medicines Management Group.
* Provide data and conduct audits for strategy development, performance and activity monitoring, budgeting and financial management, including monthly reports on medicines prescribed and administered.
* Audit, analyse and interpret complex data to identify anomalies and ensure data integrity.
* Maintain updated knowledge of developments in medical, pharmaceutical practice and digital health technology.
* Undertake projects at the discretion of the Principal Pharmacist – ePMA and Digital Medicines Management.
* Facilitate improvements in digital literacy for Pharmacy staff with the training team in readiness for ePMA implementation.
Review and grade risk assessments associated with ePMA and prepare new assessments.
* Write and develop Trust procedures and policies for the ePMA system.
* Liaise with medical, nursing, midwifery, allied health professionals and support staff to ensure effective use of ePMA.
* Support the development and monitoring of error monitoring systems for ePMA.
* Manage and achieve Key Performance Indicators and other targets for the area(s).


Person specification


Qualifications

* Masters Degree in Pharmacy.
* Registered with the каршы GPhC.
* Evidence of commitment to CPD.
* Registered independent prescriber.
* Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.


Experienceleistung
