We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. Our Aerospace, Defence and Security (ADS) business designs, develops, and deploys digital solutions that bring clients enduring business value across the UK's Public and Private sectors. Our rapidly growing Aerospace, Defence and Security business provides technology and data driven transformation services to clients and in support of wider Sopra Steria business. This requires a person who can work with minimum supervision, who demonstrate a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach. Roles at this level will work within established processes, procedures and guidance, with minimum day-to-day supervision, to provide a range of support services to an agreed standard or specification. The successful candidate will work with the Technical Lead and report to the Solution Owner, to provide second line support and technical implementation: installation, maintenance, performance optimisation of infrastructure technologies. This is a permanent role, based on-site in Hemel Hempstead and requires DV clearance. Candidates must be holding a live DV clearance. What you will be doing: Evaluate hardware and software (for server, network, storage or desktop environments). Test all deliverables produced and document results. Integration and test of new products (both hardware and software) for incorporation into programme infrastructure. Administration and enhancement of the environment and its supportability. Provide second line support. Carry out project tasks to ensure the viability of the project Accurately assess time to complete tasks in order to follow standard project processes and procedures. To be aware of the relevant SLA structure and to respond, fix or escalate according to the limits set out within that structure. Maintain Operational and User procedures and ensure that Team Leader is informed of progress. What you will bring: DV Clearence and UK National - initial SC and willing to go through DV process. Experience of operating service support function(s) within an enterprise environment. Infrastructure skills covering administration, fault finding/diagnosis and fix. Experience of: File/Print Clusters, enterprise level thin client environments and messaging systems would be .an advantage Documentation Skills, with the ability to produce documents for use by an end user, as well as operational procedure documentation for use by service desk personnel. Extensive work experience in infrastructure Management. It would be great if you had: Knowledge of ITIL Service Management processes and practices. Accreditation to MCP level or equivalent. Customer service skills and experience of dealing and resolving complex issues. Should be able to demonstrate customer service excellence. Experience of reporting to various management levels, both internal and external. Experience of working within an agreed SLA framework, and the monitoring of associated KPIs.
