Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron; a large scientific facility designed to produce very intense beams of X-rays, infrared and ultraviolet light. Role

Science Division and Events Administrator

This role provides high-quality confidential administrative support to the Science Division, including the Deputy Science Directors and Science Group Leaders, as part of the busy Divisional Office team.


Responsibilities

* Provide a complete range of high-quality confidential administrative support to the Science Division, including diary and travel arrangements, meeting and events organisation, minute taking, and visitor liaison.
* Undertake general administrative activities as required, supporting the Division’s activities and ensuring smooth operations.
* Take responsibility for organising complex travel arrangements, meetings, and events.


Qualifications and Skills

* Educated to A level standard or equivalent, with previous Administrative experience.
* Significant practical experience in a busy office environment, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience of booking travel arrangements and using Microsoft Office.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple activities in parallel and meet tight deadlines; ability to reorganise tasks at short notice.
* Good attention to detail and excellent time management, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion.
