Job Description To assist with the development and management of a high quality, efficient and effective Professional Architectural Group as directed by the Principal Architect all in accordance with the needs and priorities of the Council, relative to work commissions for internal and external Clients. Requirements To assist the Principal Architect in aspects of the management of the Architectural Group delegated by the Economy, Enterprise & Operations Management Team, including staff resourcing, delegation of work and supervision. To perform all tasks relative to a Senior Architectural Technician and take responsibility for design and specification aspects of allocated projects from inception to completion. To ensure the timeous provision of appropriate information to the Principal Architect, the Economy, Enterprise & Operations Management Team and to Clients on matters of legitimate concern. To assist with Best Value issues relating to the Architectural Group. To assist with planning and programming of Capital and Revenue works as requested, for all Clients. To undertake supervisory duties. The Individual Significant post qualification experience in an Architectural Practice. Experience of Educational Projects Appropriate technical qualifications to HNC/HND level in Architectural Technology. Willingness to work in a demanding position where a flexible approach is required. Ability to accept direction/ delegation. Ability to organise and supervise work and staff. Knowledge of policies, issues, procedures and practices, relating to the delivery of an Architectural Service. Contract Administration Experience IT skills. Experience of Microsoft Excel, Access and Outlook Express Software. Computer aided drafting skills. Analytical and numerical skills. Knowledge of the Scottish Building Standards 2025 Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van Effective communication skills (both written and oral)., negotiation and presentation skills Ability to relate well to Colleagues, Elected Members and the Public. Understanding of the importance of effective team working.
