Position Details:
Role: International Debt and Debt Recovery Officer
Location: Wolverhampton (10-minute walk from Wolverhampton bus and train station )
Contract Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 2 months (from July 28, 2025, to September 26, 2025)
Hourly Rate: £15.17 - £15.57
37 hours per week - Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities:
As our International Debt and Debt Recovery Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations. Your main duties will include:
Investigating and collating information for referral to the University debt recovery agents.
Managing a specific set of accounts with diligence and accuracy.
Acting as the main point of contact for debt recovery agents and their legal representatives.
Collaborating closely with Student Records and Student Centres to resolve queries before referral.
Representing the organisation at debt-related court hearings or mediation meetings.
Chasing invoices raised to commercial sponsors and customers.
Assisting in the annual Bad Debt Write-off and analysing unallocated credit balances.
Supporting the reconciliation and maintenance of the Student Loan Company account, valued at £80 million.
Providing valuable information and guidance to staff on income-related matters.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
A good standard of education with relevant experience in debt recovery or finance.
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
The ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
