Learning & Development Officer (FTC)
Location: Hybrid – 3 days in our Bury Head Office, 2 days remote (with flexibility to support business needs)
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract
We’re looking for a commercially minded Learning & Development Officer who can blend creativity with strategic thinking to deliver impactful, business-aligned learning solutions. About the Role
In this dynamic and varied role, you’ll play a pivotal part in driving performance, engagement, and capability across the business, ensuring our people have the skills to meet both current and future needs. You’ll be the heartbeat of our L&D team, leading on everything from onboarding, Induction through to leadership development, and acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders across the business.
You’ll be supporting a fast-paced, customer-focused financial services environment, where agility, innovation, and commercial awareness are key. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the financial sector who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.

Requirements
* Design, develop, and facilitate engaging training content and initiatives that support both behavioural and technical growth.
* Lead and deliver leadership development programmes, empowering our managers to shine.
* Champion our learning culture, building competency matrices, designing journey to competencies, supporting succession planning, and making learning part of everyday life.
* Partner with the L&D Manager to shape and deliver our annual training calendar, ensuring it’s packed with opportunities for everyone and supports our strategy.
* Monitor and review Personal Development Plans, helping colleagues achieve their ambitions.
* Source and commission external training to keep our business at the cutting edge.
* Collaborate with our L&D Administrator to create dynamic eLearning content (Articulate experience a plus).
* Support monthly reporting and evaluation, helping us demonstrate the real impact of L&D.
* Facilitate induction and onboarding sessions, making sure every new starter feels welcomed and inspired.
* Provide ad-hoc coaching to colleagues up to manager level, supporting their professional journey.
* Champion our learning platforms (LMS, Viva Engage, SharePoint), making sure they’re user-friendly and engaging.
* Support our apprenticeship, graduate, and professional qualification programmes, ensuring every learner feels supported.
What you’ll bring:
* Proven experience in Learning & Development, with confident facilitation and project leadership skills (essential). If you’re CIPD accredited, that’s an added bonus!
* A passion for people development and a growth mindset, with the ability to inspire and energise others.
* A natural ideas generator, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across learning and business processes. You bring creative thinking to the table, championing new ways of working and driving positive change.
* Demonstrable project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver multiple L&D initiatives simultaneously, ensuring successful outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the credibility to influence at all levels.
* Tech-savvy approach, with proficiency in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Viva Engage, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with LMS and eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate) is highly desirable.
* Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
* A collaborative, can-do attitude, thriving in a supportive, high-performing team.
* Commitment to inclusivity, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported.

Essential
* 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C in English & Mathematics)
Desirable
* A Levels or BTEC
* CIPD Level 3, ILM Coaching Level 3 or equivalent training experience
