JOB-20240819-db742659 Team Manager - MASH Team Specialism / Department: Children's Social Care - Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Location: Tyneside, UK Salary / Pay Rate: £37.40 per hour Contract Type: Locum / Ongoing Working Pattern: Part-Time / Full-Time Role Overview A fantastic opportunity has become available for a skilled and experienced Team Manager to lead the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) within North Tyneside Council's Children's Services. This ongoing locum position offers flexibility with part-time or full-time working options, alongside an excellent hourly rate of £37.40. As Team Manager, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding practice, providing leadership, oversight, and high-quality decision-making in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment. You will ensure referrals are screened effectively, risks are identified promptly, and safeguarding responses are robust and compliant with statutory frameworks. Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do Provide inspirational leadership to Social Workers and practitioners within the MASH. Oversee screening, triage, and allocation of safeguarding referrals concerning children and families. Ensure compliance with statutory duties, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004. Lead robust safeguarding decisions, ensuring timely responses to risk. Collaborate closely with partner agencies such as health, police, and education to support effective information sharing. Provide professional supervision, guidance, coaching, and performance management for staff. Monitor caseloads, KPIs, and service standards, ensuring best practice delivery. Chair complex safeguarding discussions and strategy meetings, offering expert insights. Promote early help, prevention, and strength-based approaches across the service. Requirements / Candidate Criteria Essential Qualified Social Worker with recognised Social Work degree or equivalent. Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's safeguarding, including MASH or front-door services. Strong understanding of statutory frameworks and multi-agency safeguarding procedures. Demonstrable leadership and team-management skills. Excellent communication, decision-making, and risk-assessment abilities. Desirable Experience within a similar role in a local authority setting. Background in service development or performance improvement. Strong partnership-building skills across multi-agency settings.
