We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Temporary PA to the Headteacher / Office Manager to join a busy and weing secondary school in Prestwich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong school-based administrative experience who is ready to take the next step, support senior leadership, and play a key role in the smooth running of the school office.While previous experience as a PA in a school setting is not essential, experience working within school administration is required, and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Contract: Temporary (until March 2026)Location: PrestwichStart Date: January 2026Hours: Full-time, 7:30am - 3:30pm Rate: £16 - £20/hourKey Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
2. Manage the Headteacher’s diary, appointments, and correspondence.
3. Act as a professional and courteous first point of contact for staff, students, parents, and external agencies.
4. Prepare documents, reports, briefing papers, and presentations as required.
5. Support with minute-taking, meeting preparation, and follow-up actions.
6. Maintain confidentiality at all times and handle sensitive information with discretion.
7. Contribute to wider school office functions as needed, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school.
Essential Requirements:
8. Strong experience working in a school administrative role.
9. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
10. Confidentmunicator with a professional, calm, and approachable manner.
11. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and school MIS experience ( SIMS/Arbor/other).
12. High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
13. Ability to work independently and use initiative.
14. Strong understanding of confidentiality within a school
Desirable:
15. PA and diary management experience within a secondary school
16. Experience supporting senior leaders.
17. Minute-taking experience.
18. Knowledge of safeguarding protocols in schools.
