Payroll Administrator
Horsham, West Sussex | Up to £30,000 per annum
Permanent | Full Time | Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week

We’re seeking a confident and reliable Payroll Administrator to play a vital role in ensuring payroll is processed efficiently, accurately, and on time. Working as part of a collaborative HR and finance function, you’ll be responsible for a variety of payroll tasks, from processing starters and leavers to managing statutory payments and submitting HMRC returns.
Key Responsibilities
Processing weekly (seasonal) and monthly payrolls for salaried, hourly, and shift-paid employees
Administering new starters, leavers, and contractual changes via HR systems (SAP/E-HR)
Managing tax documents, P45s, and tax code changes
Handling statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, holiday and parental leave
Calculating and processing overtime, allowances, and additional payments
Reconciling and processing payments such as AEOs, NI contributions, and Trade Union deductions
Submitting RTI and EPS reports to HMRC
Supporting payroll year-end processes, including P60 generation and reporting
Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records
Acting as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries
Skills & Experience Required
Proven payroll experience, ideally within a high-volume environment
Strong knowledge of PAYE, HMRC submissions, and statutory requirements
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word
Experience using SAP or Oracle HCM desirable (training provided if using other payroll systems)
A proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills
Payroll/accounting qualifications advantageous but not essential
