Personal Advisor (Care Leavers)
Location: Telford
Pay Rate: £16.35 per hour (PAYE) or £21.25 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Temporary
Working Pattern: Hybrid – office-based approximately 2 days per week, with flexibility required for visits
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Personal Advisor to support care-experienced young people in Telford. This is a rewarding statutory role focused on helping young people transition successfully from care into independent adulthood.
The Role
As a Personal Advisor, you will act as the key professional for young people leaving care, supporting them from age 16 through to 21, or up to 25 where required. You will work in partnership with young people and their wider support networks to help them develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to live independently.
This role requires a compassionate, organised, and proactive individual who can build trusting relationships and manage a varied caseload.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake the statutory Personal Advisor role for care-experienced young people aged 16–21, and up to 25 where eligible
* Act as key worker and case manager for Former Relevant young people, and provide advice and support to Relevant and Qualifying young people where required
* Support young people to develop independent living skills, including housing, education, employment, finances, and wellbeing
* Work collaboratively with young people, families, carers, and partner agencies to support positive transitions from care
* Prepare young people for leaving care through pathway planning, advice, and practical support
* Provide ongoing guidance, advice, and advocacy as young people move into adulthood
* Carry out visits and maintain regular contact in line with statutory guidance and service expectations
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records using electronic systems
* Promote the voice of the young person and ensure support plans are person-centred and outcome-focused
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with children, young people, or care leavers in a support or statutory setting
* Understanding of leaving care legislation and statutory guidance
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Ability to manage a caseload and work independently
* Full UK driving licence
* Access to your own vehicle with business insurance
* Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of young people
