The Role
We're looking for a confident and hands-on Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of the pub and hotel. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, leads from the front, and understands both wet-led pub operations and rooms/hotel management .
You will play a key role in leading the team, driving performance, and building strong ties within the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
Support the General Manager in delivering smooth day-to-day operations
Lead shifts across bar, restaurant, and rooms
Ensure high standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance
Manage stock, cellar standards, and cost controls
Handle guest feedback, complaints, and resolutions professionally
Rooms & Accommodation
Oversee bookings, occupancy, and front desk operations
Ensure rooms are maintained to high standards and guest-ready
Work closely with housekeeping to drive consistency
Monitor performance and support revenue optimisation
Team Leadership
Train, motivate, and develop team members
Lead by example in a fast-paced environment
Support recruitment and onboarding
Build a positive, high-performing team culture
Community Engagement
Develop strong relationships with local residents and businesses
Support events, promotions, and community initiatives
Be a visible and welcoming presence within the pub
About You
Experience as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager in a busy pub, bar, or hotel
Strong rooms experience (pub with rooms, hotel, or B&B)
Thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments
A natural leader with excellent communication skills
Passionate about hospitality and guest experience
Organised, proactive, and hands-on
Commercially aware with a problem-solving mindset
