George Salter Academy is a friendly, happy and vibrant 11-18 academy, serving a multi-cultural community and we are seeking to appoint a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Numeracy to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in raising standards in numeracy across the school, supporting pupils both in class and through targeted intervention programmes. As a HTLA Numeracy, you will deliver planned learning activities, lead small group sessions and provide high quality numeracy support to pupils across KS3 and KS4. Key responsibilities • Lead and deliver numeracy-focused interventions for individuals and small groups • Support pupils’ understanding and application of mathematical concepts • Deliver pre planned learning activities, occasionally covering whole classes where appropriate • Track and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff • Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND and gaps in numeracy skills • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and high expectations for learning • Contribute to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment As a member of our staff, you will be part of a close-knit team dedicated to fostering a challenging yet nurturing learning environment.
