Head of Data | FinTech | London
Marks Sattin are partnered with a high‑performing FinTech that has recently completed a major transformation and is entering a strong growth phase following investment from UK and US backers.
With a modern digital platform, a clear consumer focus, and profitability already achieved, the organisation is now scaling its data and analytics capabilities as a core strategic asset.
This is a senior, high‑impact Head of Data role with genuine ownership. You will define how data is governed, trusted, secured and used across the business, underpinning regulatory confidence, decision‑making, customer outcomes, and the responsible adoption of AI and advanced analytics in a tightly regulated environment.
Role:
* Define and lead the firms enterprise data strategy, positioning data as a governed, trusted, and valuable asset.
* Establish and operate a robust data governance model covering ownership, quality, lineage, metadata and controls.
* Shape the target data architecture and platform roadmap in partnership with technology leadership.
* Ensure data foundations, controls and assurance are in place to support AI and advanced analytics safely and responsibly.
* Act as senior sponsor for data transformation initiatives, working with executive stakeholders, auditors and regulators as required.
Skills Needed:
* Senior‑level experience leading data strategy, governance or architecture within FinTech, banking or regulated financial services.
* Deep understanding of regulatory expectations and risk management.
* Proven experience implementing enterprise data governance, quality frameworks, lineage and metadata capabilities.
* Strong grasp of modern data platforms, cloud technologies, integration patterns and analytics tooling.
* Experience enabling or supporting AI / machine learning or advanced analytics in controlled environments.
* Ability to operate credibly with executives, auditors and cross‑functional senior stakeholders.
