Job Title: School Caretaker

Contract: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent

Pay: £17-£18 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a school in Warrington on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. This is a key role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Opening and closing the school premises, including setting alarms
* Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic DIY tasks
* Ensuring the site is safe, secure, clean, and well presented at all times
* Managing health and safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and risk assessments
* Overseeing contractors and liaising with external service providers
* Grounds maintenance, including litter picking and basic outdoor upkeep
* Supporting with room set-ups for school events and activities
* Monitoring stock levels and reporting maintenance issues promptly
Requirements
* Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities role (school experience desirable but not essential)
* Good practical and DIY skills
* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
* Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
* Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
