The Purpose
Wakefield Council’s Wakefield Exchange team is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media and Bookings Coordinator to join our team. This exciting role is perfect for someone passionate about digital communication, community engagement, and cultural events.
Wakefield Exchange opened in February as Wakefield city centre’s newest destination for creativity, culture, leisure, work and food and drink. With a programme of exciting public events alongside B2B bookings, we are now looking for a Social Media and Bookings Coordinator, who will play a key role in delivering a high-quality information service for both visitors and local residents.
What you’ll do:
1. Deliver daily content across the Wakefield Exchange website and social media channels.
2. Develop and deliver engaging social media campaigns promoting events and cultural activities.
3. Support distribution of marketing materials to venues and events.
4. Provide admin support, including inbox management and triaging commercial enquiries.

5. Experience of creating social media and digital content.
6. Strong communication and organisational skills.
7. A proactive and collaborative approach to working with partners and the public.
