Deputy Care Manager – Bedford

Salary: £34,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Job Purpose
We are looking to recruit a full-time Deputy Care Manager to join our team at our client in Bedford. The Deputy Care Manager will be responsible for managing the care needs of clients while supporting the Head of Client Experience. This role ensures clients receive high-quality, person-centred care, while leading and developing the Care Professional team.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee clients’ ongoing care and support, ensuring person-centred, high-quality care.
Provide line management to the Client Experience team, fostering a positive team culture.
Participate in objective setting, performance reviews, and succession planning.
Undertake consultations with new clients, complete assessments, and all required client documentation.
Conduct appraisals, one-to-one supervision, return-to-work meetings, support visits, and competency assessments for Care Professionals.
Create, update, and audit client care plans; support digital care planning.
Identify training needs and follow up on auditing activity.
Support Care Professionals in achieving relevant care qualifications.
Maintain accurate client and Care Professional records using our software and People Planner.
Conduct client and Care Professional introductions and maintain regular contact with both.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, and other professionals involved in care.
Carry out client reviews and implement actions as needed.
Mentor and supervise Care Professionals to ensure high standards of care.
Deputise for the Head of Client Experience as required.
Participate in on-call duties when needed.
Ensure compliance with Equality, Diversity, and Equal Opportunities Policy.

Candidate Requirements
Experience in domiciliary care is essential.
Ready to step up into a Deputy Manager position (Senior Care Professionals encouraged to apply).
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Understanding of CQC regulations and care compliance is desirable.
Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
Experience of supervising staff and managing care plans.
Passion for helping clients live independently and happily in their own homes.
Knowledge of Health and Social Care legislation and safeguarding procedures.
Confident using care management technology and supporting team members.
Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
Organised and flexible to meet business needs.
