Morson is recruiting an Engineering Lecturer for a long-term, 12-month contract with a Lancashire defence client. Candidates will be Mechanical, Electrical, or Aero and Aviation Engineering Lecturers, responsible for creating a bespoke, engaging curriculum at our client's advanced training academy in Samlesbury. The role requires on-site work at least 2 days per week, with the remainder from home.
We seek a confident, responsible, and inspiring Mechanical, Electrical, or Aero and Aviation Engineering Lecturer with the ability to craft creative lessons that motivate apprentices and colleagues alike. An imaginative teaching approach that fosters engagement and achievement to world-class standards is essential.
Requirements include a PGCE or equivalent, with CAD HNC or higher. Experience in delivering CAD and Levels 3 and 4 is preferred.
Applicants should have recent teaching and mentoring experience, the ability to develop and share innovative blended learning resources, and a passion for apprenticeship standards within the employer provider sector. The role demands adaptability, the ability to work under pressure, and experience with blended learning resources and delivery on a VLE platform. Experience with Aero and Aviation programmes up to Level 3 and/or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering is highly desirable.
Your main responsibilities include:
1. Teaching advanced manufacturing programmes aligned with apprenticeship standards and innovative delivery models.
2. Planning, monitoring, and evaluating the curriculum to promote a positive learning culture.
3. Preparing and assessing learner progress with meaningful feedback to ensure rapid development.
4. Embedding maths and English throughout the curriculum.
5. Conducting apprentice performance reviews with high-quality target setting.
6. Producing timely reports and data analysis on apprentice progress.
7. Participating in interviews, enrolment, induction, open days, and enrichment activities.
8. Developing an inclusive blended learning approach using CANVAS as a platform.
Your skills and qualifications:
1. A teaching qualification is mandatory, with experience developing blended learning resources on a VLE platform.
2. Experience delivering Aero, Aviation, or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering programmes up to Level 4.
3. Ability to work collaboratively to develop and share stimulating teaching resources.
4. Recent teaching and mentoring experience.
You should be passionate about apprenticeship standards and committed to helping apprentices develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviors.
