Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic specialist podiatrist to join our community based team.
Specialist Podiatrist

Post offered - 1.0 WTE (37.5 hours)
The post holder working pattern would be Monday-Friday - 08.30-16.30.
Newly qualified podiatrist considered and will have to follow a development /competency framework - please contact department for further information.
The successful candidate will be working in a variety of settings across Mansfield and Ashfield area of Nottingham, and will manage a mixed caseload including routine and high risk patients, domiciliary visits, and participation within local nail surgery rota. You must have the ability, means and willingness to travel between multiple sites across the locality to carry out duties.
Opportunities to work within our Podiatric Surgery team, Community based Foot Protection Team and Diabetic MDT hospital clinics across Nottinghamshire. Additional CPD training and internal career advancement available.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
Main duties of the job
As a member of Nottinghamshire Podiatry Services you would have the opportunity to -
* Rotate into Podiatric Surgery, Community based Foot Protection Team and Diabetic MDT hospital based clinics.
* Work in a variety of clinical settings within the Nottinghamshire area, both domiciliary, clinical and hospital settings. Must be able to meet the physical and travel requirements of the position.

o Provide assessment, diagnosis and implementation of individual treatment plans for patients, and discharge following a set criteria.
o Support to complete nail surgery competency.
o Have an annual appraisal and personal development plan.
o Receive peer support, continued professional development and regular clinical supervision.
o Attend Nottinghamshire wide team meetings and training days including POMs and LA updates.

All applicants will have full and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and hold a Degree or Diploma in Podiatric Medicine and a certificate for Local Anaesthesia or working towards. New or final year podiatry students welcome to apply.

Job responsibilities
Provide high quality clinical care in community, patients' residences, and acute settings; develop and implement individualized care programmes for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems, wound management, MSK, and nail surgery.
o Plan and manage the caseload with mentorship and support of senior podiatrists.
o Instruct clients and carers, providing direction and guidance on a range of Podiatry interventions independently.
o Assist colleagues with challenging or complex clients requiring multidisciplinary support.
o Communicate effectively with clients, relatives, and carers, using verbal and non‑verbal tools.
o Provide administrative support such as maintaining stock levels and booking appointments.
o Use computer systems including SystmONE for recording patient information and treatment activity.
o Submit accurate records of sickness, lieu time, study, expenses, and annual leave.
o Comply with organisational and departmental policies and participate in review and update of procedures.
Person Specification
Qualifications
o BSc/Diploma in Podiatry
o Registrant of Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
o Further postgraduate study and interest in specialist field
Experience
o Experience in NHS podiatry
o Experience of team working and multidisciplinary working
o Previous experience of using electronic patient record systems

Salary
£38,682 to £46,580 a year (pro rata for part time).
