Working as part of our team at Shields Depot the B2.2 Underframe Washer will play a vital role in delivering safe, reliable, and well-presented trains.
Your responsibilities as a B2.2 Underframe washer will include:
* Underframe washes, chlorination, sanding, and screen washing of rail vehicles.
* General depot upkeep including pit cleaning, leaf clearing and waste/skip management.
* Removing graffiti from units.
* Winterisation duties (equipment checks, snow clearance, snow blowing and salt dispersal).
* Regular checks of water points, equipment, and depot surrounds.
Reporting to the Safety & Services Manager / 5S & Lean Manager or Shift Managers, you'll contribute directly to maintaining high standards across the depot while fulfilling your duties as a B2.2 Underframe Washer.
What you bring
* Motivation, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude to your work.
* A clear focus on safety and quality.
* Excellent attention to detail in keeping rail vehicles well-presented.
* Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* Full, clean driving licence (advantageous).
* Knowledge of rail vehicle engineering and operations (desirable).
Hours of work: 35-hour week. Shift work and weekend working are essential parts of this role.
We offer an attractive reference salary of £43,758 per annum on completion of training. The trainee salary is £39,403 per annum.

Selection Process
Short-listed candidates will be invited to attend a competency-based interview. The final stage for successful candidates will be a medical questionnaire. Training initially involves a 2-day on-line Induction training programme.
