Job Description
Responsibilities:
1. Direct the design, development, and enhancement of production equipment and processes to boost efficiency.
2. Partner with customers, vendors, and internal teams to define requirements for new and transfer programs.
3. Integrate new equipment and machine setups seamlessly into existing operations.
4. Assess and recommend third-party or custom-built solutions aligned with long-term goals.
5. Manage engineering aspects of major programs from concept through completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
6. Identify inefficiencies and implement automation strategies to streamline operations.
7. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering growth and collaboration.
8. Maintain thorough documentation of specifications, progress reports, and risk assessments.
9. Ensure compliance with customer standards, company policies, and industry regulations.

The Successful Applicant
Ideal Candidate:
10. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
11. 5-7+ years of medical device development experience, preferably in spinal or orthopedic instruments.
12. Direct collaboration experience with spine surgeons.
13. Proficiency in CAD tools, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
14. Strong understanding of design controls, risk management, and regulatory pathways.
