Locum Children’s Occupational Therapist
Can be based in any of the following districts: Havant, Alton, Eastleigh or Totton
Hybrid working available – office or home working by agreement across Hampshire
Contract Type: Temporary – Term Time Only, 3 days per week.
About the Role
* We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Children’s Occupational Therapist to join a specialist Children’s OT team supporting children and young people across Hampshire.
* This role is ideal for an OT who enjoys working collaboratively, continually developing their clinical skills, and supporting children with sensory difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). You will provide specialist assessment and intervention while holding a caseload across home, school, and clinic environments.
* You will also act as a source of occupational therapy expertise, offering clinical supervision and specialist support to other therapists.
* The wider Children’s Therapy Service includes Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy, providing strong opportunities for joint working. Close collaboration also takes place with Neurodiversity and Learning Disability pathways, ensuring a child-centred approach at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist OT assessment and intervention for children with complex needs
* Manage a caseload across multiple environments including home, school, and clinic settings
* Provide clinical supervision and specialist support to OT staff across Hampshire
* Screen and triage referrals using a strengths-based approach
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for children with additional needs
* Contribute to risk assessments and care planning alongside children, young people, and their families
* Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for children with long-term and complex conditions
* Undertake case management for children with highly complex needs
Essential Requirements
* Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
* HCPC registration
* Proven UK Occupational Therapy experience
* Experience working with children with sensory difficulties and ASD
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Full UK driving licence
* Enhanced Adult and Child DBS
