We are currently looking for a Safe Guarding lead to work across the board in an School based in East Sussex. The right person will be working in our SEND school and you will be required on a Long term basis as a Safe guarding lead. The role is to start ASAP. (You will need a DBS on the update service and satisfactory references) Our young people have struggled in mainstream education and need a positive experience. The majority of pupils are on EHCP and have been diagnosed with ADHD and/or Autism and SEMH. Purpose of the Role The Operational Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for the day-to-day management, coordination, and implementation of safeguarding and child protection practices. Working closely with the Safeguarding Manager and leadership team, the postholder ensures that all pupils are protected from harm, that staff are well-trained and vigilant, and that the setting meets statutory and local safeguarding requirements. Key Responsibilities Safeguarding Leadership and Coordination Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding and child protection concerns within the provision. Manage referrals to external agencies, including Children's Social Care, Police, and Early Help, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and local safeguarding partnership procedures.
