Seeking a seasoned Senior Finance Manager / Financial Controller to become the cornerstone of financial control for our dynamic oil and gas operations. This is not just a reporting role—it’s a pivotal position where you will be the key financial authority, partnering directly with operations and senior management to drive cost discipline and commercial insight.
The Role:
You will have full responsibility for the integrity of financial reporting and the strength of our financial controls. Acting as there SunSystems expert, you will ensure accurate cost allocation, robust AFE management, and clear joint venture accounting. Your analytical skills will provide management with the clarity needed to make critical decisions, while your diligence will safeguard our compliance and audit readiness.
Key Focus Areas:
* Financial Control & Reporting: Leading monthly/annual reporting, management accounts with insightful commentary, and variance analysis.
* Cost & AFE Governance: Establishing frameworks, tracking spend vs. budget/AFE, and working operationally to challenge costs and prevent overruns.
* Systems Leadership: Serving as the go-to SunSystems subject-matter expert, optimising the chart of accounts, and enhancing process efficiency.
* JV Accounting & Compliance: Ensuring adherence to JOAs, managing cash calls, and being the main point of contact for external audits.
* Cash Management: Overseeing cash flow forecasting and liquidity monitoring in line with project commitments.
1. About You:
You are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with substantial experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager within Oil & Gas E&P. You are known for your independence, commercial astuteness, and your ability to operate effectively without heavy supervision.
Essential Requirements:
* Non-negotiable E&P Experience: A strong background in upstream oil and gas.
* Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in SunSystems are essential, paired with strong Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
* Core Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with AFE lifecycle, joint venture accounting, cash calls, and project-based cost control.
* Personal Attributes: A self-starter, confident in challenging costs and enforcing discipline. An excellent communicator who can build trust with technical and non-finance teams.
