Army Adventurous Training Group is required to deliver Leadership and Resilience Training to the Royal Navy (RN), Army and Royal Air Force (RAF). This is enabled through the following 10 activities: Sub Aqua Diving, Offshore Sailing, Parachuting, Paragliding, Gliding, Mountaineering, Caving, Kayaking, Canoeing, and Skiing. Job Description The Chief Instructor – Training Support (CI-TS) serves as the lead authority for shore-based training delivery, training management, and assurance/compliance within JSASTC. The CI-TS ensures that all courses and training delivery align with the Defence Systems Approach to Training and meet the standards outlined in the Training Quality Manual. In addition to this primary role, the CI-TS also provides sail training delivery in support of JSASTC’s broader training objectives. Key Responsibilities: The production and implementation of the JSASTC Training Quality Manual. Manage staff training and professional development including maintaining training records, policies, identifying external training providers and leading on continuous improvement. Essential Skills Required: RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and RYA Cruising Instructor, within date ML5 and PRR. RYA Shore-based Instructor. A broad range of appropriate sailing experience in various types and sizes of yachts. Appropriate previous experience of working in a training environment. Excellent IT skills. Desirable Skills: Familiar with skippering larger sailing training vessels up to 70ft. Yachtmaster Instructor and ideally Yachtmaster Examiner.
