A well-established business is looking for a Senior Project Design Lead to join the team in Falmer. You will be responsible for managing the technical input for projects, coordinating contributions from various engineering disciplines, and leading a cross-functional team. Your goal will be to ensure all project aspects align to deliver the right technical solutions that meet business objectives.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, including CDM regulations.
* Developing health and safety strategies and risk assessments.
* Promoting sustainable solutions and safety practices.
* Leading design teams to deliver cost-effective, long-term solutions.
* Overseeing quality, cost, and timelines, ensuring standards are met.
* Coordinating resources, managing suppliers and contractors.
* Driving efficiency through standardisation and innovation.
* Challenging existing practices and adopting industry best practices.
* Promoting digital concepts and collaborating with supply chain partners.
* Ensuring solutions are within budget and managing financial performance.
* Monitoring project progress and managing timelines.
* Ensuring designs meet customer and regulatory expectations.
* Representing the company at conferences and promoting its work.
Candidate requirements:
* MEng/BEng/BSc or HND/HNC in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields.
* Membership of a professional institute (Chartered or working towards).
* Knowledge of project management, H&S standards, and engineering within the Water Industry.
* Project management experience.
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid approach between office and home working.
