Children’s Residential Social Care Worker Mansfield07/07/2025 – 1 month initiallyRota - Two shift patterns - 7am - 3pm and 2pm - 10pm Our client are seeking a Residential Social Care Worker to join a team based in a four bedded children's home in Mansfield.
* Provide physical and emotional care and support to young people
* Support with education, life skills and health needs
* Support with daily skills and get the young people involved in these duties
* Provide practical help, advice and guidance on issues affecting them
* Work with young people with challenging behaviour, to affect change and positive outcomes
* Act as an advocate for the young people
* Listen to the young people’s views and wishes and act on their feedback
* Contribute to and implement childcare plans and risk assessments
* Liaise and work effectively with colleagues, other agencies and service users in the interests of the young people
* Ensure that managers are informed of significant matters arising within the home
* Keep and maintain accurate records of work
* Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary
Requirements
* UK Driving License, access to a vehicle, business insurance
* Level 3 Diploma in residential child care desirable
* Must have experience of working with looked after children, experience of working in a child's residential home desirable
* Must have an understanding of the safeguarding issues which may impact on children in care
* Must have an understanding of physical, emotional, cultural, racial and individual needs in a residential setting
* Basic knowledge of the Children Act 1989 (and subsequent amendments) and other field related legislation
* Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
