Job Description
The role
Join our Civil Engineering team and play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure and construction projects. As a Project Planner, you will provide expert planning and scheduling support across a portfolio of civil engineering works, from early design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover.
Using Primavera P6, you will help ensure projects are planned, monitored, and delivered safely, efficiently, and on programme. Working closely with the Project Services Manager, Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams, and site management, you will develop robust, logic-driven schedules that support informed decision-making and strong project controls.
Your Role
* Develop and maintain detailed, construction-focused project schedules in Primavera P6 across the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction and enabling works through to delivery and completion.
* Work closely with engineering, procurement, and site teams to produce realistic programmes that reflect construction methodology, site constraints, and sequencing of works.
* Identify and analyse critical paths, programme risks, and potential delays, supporting the development of effective mitigation and recovery strategies.
* Undertake delay analysis and assess the time impact of change events, variations, and contractor claims in accordance with NEC3/NEC4 contract requirements.
* Produce clear, concise planning reports, progress updates, and programme narratives to support performance management and key project decisions.
Your experience
* Proven experience in project planning and scheduling on large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
* A strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations, gained through hands-on involvement with multidisciplinary delivery teams.
* Advanced experience using Primavera P6 to develop, manage, and update complex, fully logic-linked construction programmes.
* Practical knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including assessment of delay impacts, compensation events, and time-related claims.
* A demonstrable track record of supporting specific civil engineering projects, with clearly defined responsibilities and involvement with clients, contractors, or joint ventures in complex project environments.
