Job Role Our home in St Helens is a homely, spacious and specialist home with easy access to local parks, green spaces, shops and community amenities. It provides a calm, welcoming environment where individuals can feel comfortable, supported and part of their local community. The home currently supports one individual and will soon welcome two more, making this an important period of transition. Senior Support Workers play a key role in supporting people to move into their new home, shaping routines, overseeing care plans and ensuring individuals are supported to engage in meaningful activities that reflect their interests. We’re looking for resilient, determined and adaptable Senior Support Workers who can lead by example, support the team, and confidently guide individuals through change. Responsibilities Lead, motivate and support the team during each shift, promoting a positive culture and acting as a professional role model. Coordinate daily operations, including plans, activities, appointments and budgets, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the shift. Oversee and complete all required documentation, digital logs and audits, reviewing and signing off records completed by the team. Maintain safety and compliance by escalating health and safety concerns, monitoring medication procedures and ensuring policies are followed. Ensure accurate reporting and follow-up of incidents, behaviour logs, safeguarding concerns and post-incident debriefs. Act as a senior member of the team, advocating for and supporting the continuous development of the home, role modelling best practice in care. What we’re looking for The ideal candidate will have the following: Level 2 Adult Care Worker Qualification or equivalent is desirable (Adult’s only) Level 4 Diploma – Children, Young People & Families Practitioner is essential. (Children’s only) Previous experience in a care role in a senior/team leader/supervisory capacity Be committed to continuous improvement of the home and the team A passion for person-centred care Resilient and tenacious Have a positive and proactive mindset Strong teamwork and communication skills Full UK Driving Licence is preferred.
