Overview
As Associated Technical Expert HV, you will be responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of substations (onshore and offshore) and Wind Turbine Generators. You will be the first point of contact between Site and the Fast Response Plan HV-Team, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting all present technical systems (mechanical and electrical) on the substation and HV-related turbine services. You must provide safety supervision and technical guidance to work parties on local and remote assets, lead and plan all work activities, and manage maintenance administration in SAP with a focus on high asset availability.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and structure technical site documentation and understand documents such as VF OCPs, Platform operation manuals, and RAMS.
* Monitor common, recurring faults found during service and report observations to the Technical Engineer.
* Supervise and lead internal and external Technicians performing HV service (WTG and OSS) to ensure high quality, efficiency, and safety.
* Deliver technical training and, where applicable, act as Appointed Person or trainer in WTSR.
* Plan, execute, and report on all HV maintenance campaigns.
* Work towards and achieve 132kV authorization as a SAP.
* Participate in the Authorization Committee and Electrical Safety Committee.
* Develop advanced service knowledge on all assets and plan annual maintenance and skills development on sites.
* Enable and develop synergies across the region.
* Coordinate with the HV Control Centre for technical support, O&M strategies, lessons learned, and regulatory compliance.
* Prepare project packages for site implementation.
Location
The position is flexible across the UK, based at one of our operational sites (Ramsgate, Ormonde, Aberdeen). Travel regularly to all UK sites and occasionally abroad is required.
Qualifications
* Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technician background, or similar.
* Relevant work experience as HV Engineer.
* Minimum 33kV Senior Authorized Person Qualification.
* Strong drive to succeed with leadership skills.
* Familiar with operating SCADA systems and HV systems.
* Operations & Maintenance knowledge and experience, preferably within the wind industry.
* Project management experience.
* Advanced IT skills, preferably SAP.
* Fluency in English.
