Role Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Commercial Insights Analyst to transform data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions, support commercial growth, and improve business performance. This role will work closely with the Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver clear reporting, meaningful analysis, and predictive insights across a £150m turnover business. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. Key Responsibilities Develop, manage, and improve commercial performance dashboards covering sales, margin, pricing, customer profitability, and product mix. Analyse sales and margin trends, customer behaviour, product performance, and market patterns to support decision-making. Provide regular commercial insights to the Finance Director, SLT, and commercial teams. Support pricing, discount analysis, and margin optimisation initiatives. Deliver deep-dive analysis for commercial projects, tenders, and business cases. Support operational efficiency reporting using MRP and ERP systems, creating coherent dashboards. Build, maintain, and optimise BI models and ensure strong data integrity across systems (ERP, CRM, BI). Develop forecasting models supporting sales trends and S&OP planning. Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to align business metrics and reporting. Translate complex data into clear insights and support the development of a data‑led decision‑making culture. Skills and Experience Proven experience in a commercial analytics, BI, or data analyst role. Strong negotiator able to lead commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers. Proven track record of delivering insights that influence commercial decisions. Proficiency in Power BI, advanced Excel, SQL, and data modelling. Strong data visualisation and storytelling skills. Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources. Must have a valid UK Driving Licence.
