An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Site Matron team for Hospital Operations working across Morriston Service Group.
The post holder will operate independently and be responsible and accountable for the proactive management, safe and effective utilisation of beds and patient flow throughout the Morriston Deliver Unit. Work autonomously to provide highly specialised professional patient flow advice to colleagues to ensure that high standards of service delivery, quality and performance objectives are achieved.
Main duties of the job
The Matron is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of evidence based, safe and effective nursing, infection prevention, safeguarding and patient flow standards within their defined area of responsibility. They will support and provide senior leadership to Ward/Unit managers, prioritising person centred care and positive experiences for our patients. They will be responsible for the day to day management of ward managers within their areas of responsibility in line with the Health Board’s values and behaviour framework of caring for each other, working together and always improving.

1. Ensuring the delivery of the required standards and continual improvement of the fundamental aspects of care, cleanliness and infection prevention and control
2. Safe and effective use of nursing resources on a day to day basis in accordance with need and appropriate skill level within designated wards
3. Timely, safe and effective transfer of care/discharge
4. Development of person-centred approaches to care
5. Ensuring positive patient experience, reduction in harm, waste and variation
6. A culture that fosters empowerment, collaborative learning and continuous professional development

8. Registered Nurse
9. Recognised management qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience
10. Knowledge and understanding of current policy and issues in professional practice, compliance, standards and the wider NHS Implementing WGs 'Passing the Batton' discharge requirements
