If you are enthusiastic about working with children, and interested in working within an early learning and childcare centre then the Early Year’s Assistant post may be what you are looking for. Working collaboratively as part of the early year’s team you will be responsible for the supervision of children during the lunch period, and also undertaking laundry duties within the establishment. Experience of working with children (0-5) in an early year’s or school environment is essential. You will have good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, a friendly but firm approach and have the ability to use your own initiative as well as working to the instruction of the head of the establishment.

Requirements This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here. Responsibilities The employment for which you are applying is exempted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are spent under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
