We are looking for a part-time Delivery Driver. You will be based at our Production Kitchen in Ashford while driving around various locations within Kent.
* Pay: £12.21 per hour
* Hours: Roughly 8 hours a week. This role commences on a flexible, zero-hour basis, with the opportunity to transition to a regular position after three months. Some weekend work and rarely evening work.
About the Delivery Driver role
Every role at Lily’s helps bring our mission to life. As part of our paid team, you’ll be working in a supportive, inclusive environment where learning, growth and teamwork are part of everyday life - for you and the trainees we work alongside.
We are looking for a flexible and reliable Delivery Driver to join our Production Kitchen team. This is a hands-on role supporting our social enterprise mission to provide meaningful work opportunities and inclusive training environments.
You’ll be responsible for driving our company van to deliver stock to our cafes, fulfil regular customer orders, and support our catering events. The role also includes:
* Delivering stock to our cafes in Maidstone, Ashford and Canterbury
* Delivering pre-ordered office lunches to our regular customers
* This role involves lifting and moving supplies, including loading and unloading the van
* Occasional driving with a trainee (full safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS, will be required)
* Supporting the production kitchen team with cleaning, washing up and light cooking tasks
* Helping out at our catering events - some weekend work and maybe a few evenings
* There is an expectation that some induction training is completed - we typically do this in an e-learning format, but other options are available.
* Safeguarding is central to this role, and you’ll be expected to support and protect the wellbeing of our trainees, who are at the heart of everything we do.
About you:
You’ll be dependable, flexible with your availability, and comfortable working as part of a friendly, busy team. Experience in hospitality or deliveries is a plus but not essential – a can-do attitude is more important.
Essential (must have):
* You must hold a clean (free from endorsements and penalty points) full UK Driving Licence
* Must be over the age of 25 for insurance purposes
* Confident driving a small manual van
Desirable (nice to have, but not required):
* Social care or training/teaching experience
* Be confident driving a long-base wheeled van to help us with a catering event in July
* Experience working in catering/ hospitality
What we offer:
* Real potential to move to a contracted role after 3 months
* A supportive, inclusive working environment
* Real opportunities for development and progression
* Training is provided where needed
* Meaningful work that supports our community
Who we are at Lily’s:
At Lily’s, we believe food has the power to change lives. Based in Kent, we’re a social enterprise serving up more than just great coffee and catering - we’re creating real work opportunities for people who might otherwise be left out of the job market.
Our amazing team includes trainees who are neurodivergent or have learning disabilities, gaining hands-on experience in our cafés, kitchens and at events. Every shift is a chance to grow skills, build confidence, and be part of something that matters.
We’re a flexible employer with a big heart - committed to inclusion, wellbeing, and fair recruitment. Whether you’re in the kitchen, on the road, or out front with our customers, you’ll be helping make the world a little fairer (and tastier) one plate at a time.
Our commitment to inclusion and safer recruitment
Lily’s Social Kitchen CIC is an inclusive employer. We particularly welcome applications from neurodivergent people and those with lived experience of barriers to employment.
We follow safer recruitment practices. This means we ask for references and will carry out a DBS (criminal record) check. A past conviction will not necessarily be a barrier to working with us - we are open to confidential conversations and consider every applicant individually.
