ER Specialist - Workforce Change & Restructuring Specialist - VP
Fixed Term Contract, 6 months initally with potential for extension
Location: London, Glasgow or Northampton with hybrid working
Salary: paying up to £85,000
Oakleaf Partnership are supporting a a Global Bankin their search for an interim Workforce Change & Restructuring Specialist. This role will be central to the successful delivery of large-scale and complex workforce transformation programmes across the UK and globally. The Opportunity

You will take full accountability for the end-to-end HR workstream across a portfolio of workforce change initiatives. This includes restructures, redundancies, TUPE transfers, senior exits, site closures, and M&A activity. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, shaping consultation strategies, managing employee representative engagement, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with governance, compliance, and risk frameworks.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional with a proven track record of delivering high-profile change programmes in large, matrixed organisations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead HR delivery for complex change programmes, ensuring all governance and control requirements are met.

Own people impact assessments, selection pools, and due diligence processes.

Develop and deliver consultation strategies (both collective and individual) with unions, works councils, and employee forums.

Design structured communication plans and prepare all supporting collateral including scripts, letters, FAQs, and manager briefing packs.

Partner closely with HR Operations, Legal, and other specialist teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution.

Identify risks, escalate issues, and contribute to continuous improvement across the workforce change function.

Provide subject matter expertise to senior stakeholders, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.

Candidate Profile

You must have experience delivering large-scale UK and global change programmes (e.g. restructuring, redundancy, TUPE, senior exits).

Strong track record of working with unions/employee forums and managing consultation processes end-to-end.

Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.

Confident working with complex data sets (Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables).

Commercially astute, detail-oriented, and resilient in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Experience in working for large, matrixed organisations.
