As a Weekend Helpdesk Technician, you'll be an essential part of our IT support team focusing on assisting users with hardware, system and service issues outside of normal hours of operation. Your main duty is to be the first line of defence for the majority of issues that will come through the Helpdesk, ensuring that user issues are addressed quickly and efficiently and that our IT infrastructure runs smoothly. You'll also be expected to contribute to our team's learning environment, sharing knowledge and skills as you grow. As a weekend member of staff, you will also be involved with triaging calls, reporting outages and escalating to our on call team in emergencies.
This is a part time role working 7 hours per week to be worked alternately on Saturdays 9:00 until 18:00 and Sundays 10:00 until 16:00. Training will be provided throughout the work week in the leadup to the first shift as well as support from our 2nd line team.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Providing first class support to our internal colleagues, including managers and directors
* Providing remote support for colleagues across the group
* Handling requests for new colleagues promptly to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
* Troubleshooting and resolving user issues and keeping them updated on progress.
* Effectively triaging issues to the relevant teams after completing baseline troubleshooting.
Expectations of the role:
* Basic Knowledge of PCs, Microsoft operating systems, networks, and Office 365.
* Ability to diagnose and resolve IT issues remotely.
* Thorough troubleshooting skills before escalating to higher support levels.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Polite and friendly telephone manner.
* Ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging situations.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Willingness to learn and progress.
