Our client is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team in Cookstown. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in electronics who is also confident in building customer relationships and supporting business growth.
The Role
This role offers the best of both worlds: working closely with experienced R&D engineers on product development, while also engaging directly with customers to provide tailored solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
* Supporting the sales team to identify and secure new business opportunities.
* Working with clients to understand their requirements and propose suitable solutions.
* Acting as the link between sales and engineering teams on product development projects.
* Coordinating projects from concept through to delivery.
* Preparing quotations, managing leads via CRM systems, and following up with customers.
* Providing technical support across a diverse product range.
* Assisting with technical content for marketing (case studies, product literature, testimonials).
* Representing the company at trade shows, meetings, and events.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and personable individual with both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
Essential criteria:
* Solid understanding of electronics, electrical, or mechanical systems.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport.
* Organised and confident working with multiple teams.
* Basic computer skills (experience with Sage/CRM systems desirable).
Desirable criteria:
* Previous experience in technical sales or a customer-facing engineering role.
* Ability to present technical information clearly to different audiences.
