Senior Quantity Surveyor

A contractor delivering a £15m educational and residential scheme in North London is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial control as the project progresses toward completion. This isn’t a blank-sheet tender role.
The project is well underway and needs an experienced head who can step in, keep things organised, manage the commercial relationships, and see the job through to completion properly.
The Project
£15m purpose-built educational and residential facility in Golders Green.
The scheme includes demolition of existing structures and construction of a four-storey mixed-use educational building comprising:
Basement dining facilities, kitchen and communal areas
• Ground floor prayer halls, study spaces, library and offices
• Upper floors providing student bedrooms and study rooms
• Landscaping and associated site works
The Role
Commercial lead on a live £15m education / residential scheme
• Manage subcontractor packages and accounts through to final account
• Handle variations, change management and cost reporting
• Maintain commercial structure as the project moves toward completion
• Work closely with the site team and external consultant team
• Support commercial oversight on an additional £10m residential scheme in Sutton
This is a practical, delivery-focused Senior QS role - not sitting behind spreadsheets all day.
You’ll be involved in the real commercial management of the project.

Project visits typically 1–2 days per week, with flexibility around remote working depending on the stage of the job.
The role can be structured permanent or freelance (Ltd company) depending on the individual.
