We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Systems Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary engineering function. This role is responsible for enabling high-performing teams to deliver complex, integrated solutions.
Responsibilities will include:
* Setting the strategic direction for systems engineering, ensuring consistent, data-driven practices across all projects.
* Overseeing requirements capture, analysis, and validation to ensure robust traceability through the engineering lifecycle.
* Leading the development and implementation of verification and validation strategies to maintain integrity.
* Act as an authority on systems assurance, supporting project-level decision making and stakeholder confidence in system integrity.
* Build and mentor a high-performing systems engineering team, centred on continuous improvement, professional development, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing.
* Driving cross-disciplinary collaboration to achieve seamless integration between system elements.
* Managing a team of 7 Systems Engineers with scope to grow.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
* Proven leadership experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
* Proven experience throughout the design, development, and testing stages of defence platforms.
* Systems engineering experience in the context of safety-critical systems.
* Proficient in model-based systems engineering and confident applying structured, data-driven methods.
