Overview
Now is an exciting time to join Scarborough Hospital. We have recently completed a £47 million redevelopment project to transform our Acute, Urgent & Emergency Medical services. We are seeking Specialty Doctors to join our dynamic Emergency Department team. Our new Urgent & Emergency Care Centre (UECC) facility opened on 1 May 2025 and is a pioneering, multi-functional clinical space that integrates Emergency Medicine, Resuscitation, Urgent Care, Frailty, Same Day Emergency Care, and short-stay services into a single footprint. This model promotes a ‘working without walls’ approach across specialties, supported by dedicated radiology and over 3000 sqm of flexible clinical space. Above the UECC, a state-of-the-art Critical Care and Enhanced Care Unit has also been developed, further enhancing acute care on the Yorkshire Coast.
Scarborough was the country’s first seaside resort and remains among the UK’s favourite locations. We are on the edge of the North York Moors National Park with excellent opportunities for outdoor activities, and the town is well connected to road and rail networks. London is less than 3 hours away by train.
