About the Role
NextGen Teachers are seeking a compassionate and committed Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Keighley. This role involves supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and communication challenges.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and making a real difference in the lives of young people. The role is initially offered on a temporary basis, with the potential for ongoing work.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with complex needs
* Assist with personal care requirements, including feeding, toileting, and mobility
* Support communication using methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual aids
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
* Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
* Track and report on student progress and wellbeing
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN or complex needs is highly desirable
* A patient, caring, and resilient approach
* Comfortable supporting personal care needs
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* The right to work in the UK
* An enhanced DBS on the update service
* The ability to provide 24 months of professional references
