Pay: £89 – £98 per day (depending on experience)

Job Description
We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to support pupils who may display challenging behaviour linked to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or other barriers to learning. This role requires a high level of initiative and reliability. It is a rewarding position for anyone eager to help students regulate emotions, build positive relationships, and re‑engage with their education.
Role Responsibilities
* Work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
* Support students to manage behaviour and make positive choices
* Use de‑escalation and restorative approaches
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
* Support classroom learning and help reinforce behavioural and emotional targets
* Maintain consistent boundaries and act as a positive role model
Who We’re Looking For
* Emotionally resilient and able to stay calm in challenging situations
* Strong communicator with a positive and proactive mindset
* Able to build rapport with young people, particularly those who may struggle to trust adults
* Previous experience isn’t essential, but backgrounds in youth work, care, mental health, sport, or support work are valuable

Daily rate of pay would be £89.66 but there is potential to earn more based on experience. Holiday pay is included.
Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll – the most transparent way to be paid, with no hidden fees.
DBS: If you do not have a non‑voluntary enhanced DBS on the update service, we will need to process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This cost will be refunded after 20 days of work, provided you have updated your DBS.
Vetting: Successful candidates will undergo reference checks, TRA checks and must have DBS. A face‑to‑face interview will also be required.
